MHI Ship Repair and Services, a Titan company, owns and operates the largest privately owned pier on the U.S. east coast. With a deep draft and four berths available, it offers full yard and engineering services. This pier is state of the art servicing vessels with diverse requirements. Pier facilities are supplemented by work shops and offices. Located in the main harbor close by all shipping terminals, MHI is literally minutes away.

• Only complete the blue highlighted fields
• Do not manipulate, change, type over, widen, etc. any column, row or any field that is not blue.
• A full middle name must be entered. (If no middle name, enter NMN).
• The Identifier, previously referred to as “Visit ID#”, is the employee/payroll number. (This number must be unique and cannot be comprised of any numbers relating to the SSN, date of birth, or driver’s license number)
• FSO certifies that the individual is 18 years of age by indicating Yes
• If employee is born within the US and/or a US Citizen, enter “Yes“, otherwise put “No”.

Naval Station Norfolk and Norfolk Naval Shipyard

Work performed at Naval Station Norfolk and Norfolk Naval Shipyard will require a DBIDS badge.

Proof of Citizenship

Visitors who do not have a security clearance that were born outside of the United States must present appropriate documents at the Pass Office in order to receive a badge. All Non-US citizens must be escorted.

E-Verify Program Screening

All companies who submit visit requests for their employees to be badged for unescorted access to the Shipyard must screen their employees through E-Verify (formerly known as the Basic Pilot and Employment Eligibility Verification Program). E-Verify is an Internet-based system operated by the Department of Homeland Security in partnership with the Social Security Administration that allows participating employers to electronically verify the employment eligibility of their newly hired employees. E-Verify is free and is the best means available for determining employment eligibility of new hires and the validity of their Social Security Numbers. Third-Party Contractor Access Instructions

These instructions apply to all Third-Party contractors hired by the U.S. Government who require access to Marine Hydraulics International (MHI) facilities to perform work on a Government vessel.

Step 1 – Review Required Safety Information

Before requesting access, review the following documents:

Processing Time

Once a complete package has been received, Third-Party Access requests are typically processed within 3–5 business days.

Please allow sufficient time before your scheduled work date to ensure your access request can be reviewed and approved.
